Note Americana 4 - extra questions

Hello.

Here goes two wuestions to complemente the exercises. They should be also considered for evaluation.


Discuss O'Neill's use of language in the play. How do the characters' different attitudes find expression in the words they use? Discuss the value of meaning to the characters and the presence of lies in their discourse and also compare the diction of the characters.


A Long Day's Journey into Night can be considered as a journey back and forth into the past. What is the role of the past in the play? Discuss what the past represents to each character and how it paralyzes the family.
